The power generated by a hydrokinetic turbine (like ours) is proportional to the cube of the speed of the water passing through the blades of the turbine. 

Our venturi tube converts some of the pressure in the seawater into additional water speed. This dramatically increases the amount of power that our turbine is able to extract.
