We've created a new version of proven type of hydrokinetic turbine, i.e. we've created a new type of "impulse turbine."

And we've already tested the ability of our wave-driven venturi tube to amplify the speed of the wave-induced flow of seawater through our turbine.

We tested the amount by which the venturi tube increased the speed of the water entering the tube. The results exceeded our expectations.

We are now building our first power-generating prototype with a $95,000 grant awarded by the California Energy Commission as a part of its "Energy Innovation Small Grant (EISG)" program.

We tested the prototype venturi tube by suspending it from the end of a boom extended over the side of our boat.

Here are two views of the prototype venturi tube. On the left you can see the venturi tube that was inside the outer cylindrical tube.
